Senior Test Systems/Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Summary:
The successful applicant will assume a key role in system hardware and software development testing, system automation, and instrumentation design for the company’s semiconductor and scintillator-based radiation detector products, especially in medical applications.
Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation electrical/electronic design; Custom detector test platform/system hardware implementation, from front-end to back-end (software and firmware programming, debugging and development of interface apps include enclosure design, fixtures, sourcing, integration test and debugging…).
- Custom detector test/instrument software algorithms, development and debugging - particularly using Labview and other popular programming languages (Python, MATLAB, C, C++…).
- Support manufacturing with the development of new detector test infrastructure, and technology process transfer (from initial R&D / prototype to standard production).
- Maintain all test and characterization equipment.
- Contribute to the scale-up and expansion of the characterization and testing capabilities.
- Assist in the engineering drawing of the company’s semiconductor and scintillator-based products.
- Develop the SOPs for all the processes/instruments mentioned above.
- Contribute to other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of three years hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Test system development, integration test and debug.
- Test fixture design, development, and debug.
- Software automation and computer programming, especially a sound capability with Labview programming.
- Firmware experience is a must.
- CAD/engineering drawing.
- Medical imaging system related engineering experience highly desirable.
- Nuclear instrumentation, semiconductor device, medical device, computer simulation and A.I. skills “big plus”.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- A hands-on individual who works well in a team environment.
Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Electronic Technology or equivalent; PhD level highly desirable.
Location:
Vital Materials Engineering Center is in a 62,000 sq fit facility in Bowling Green, Ohio
- Working onsite at the Engineering Center is required.
